ORYX GTL Supports National Campaign for Road Accident Prevention

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) toward the Qatari community and arising from its deep concern over safety of the roads’ users, ORYX GTL has granted a donation to the Traffic Department in order to finance the National campaign for Road Accident Prevention and its associated summer campaign being held at malls and commercial centres to last for two months.

Mr. Saeed Rashid Al-Kaabi, ORYX GTL Contracts Manager, presented a check with the pledged amount to the Brigadier General Mohamed Saad Al-Kharji, Director of Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior, State of Qatar.
Al-Kaabi said that ORYX GTL grant is among other donations made by the company in support of various Qatari official bodies and organizations. It represents and reflects ORYX GTL’s social responsibility and commitment to organizations that work to improve opportunities for all citizens of the State of Qatar. He added that ORYX GTL’s annual contribution to the success of summer traffic campaign goes in line with its support and commitment to realize Qatar National Vision 2030.

In return, Brigadier General Al-Kharji thanked ORYX GTL and highly valued its continuous cooperation with the Traffic Department and its support of the National campaign for Road Accident Prevention, which is created to educate road users about material and human damages that occur due to accidents.

The Summer Campaign, of this year, is expected to create traffic awareness among audience of nationals and expatriates under the motto “Together we reduce traffic accidents” with special concentration on young men and women.  The campaign is also expected to spread the culture of commitment to safety and identify the risks of traffic violations, among others; over speed driving, negligence of tyres condition and the necessity of fastening seat belts.
