Aiming to communicate to the community some of the company’s green initiatives, ORYX GTL is actively participating in the QP Environmental Fair, 24 to 26 of April 2010, where the company had the opportunity to educate children and teenagers while entertaining them, and had premiered its latest ads and vignette, which emphasize ORYX GTL’s clear vision – Cleaner fuel for a Healthier Planet.
The public response has been very positive, even from children that had expressed an innate concern for a matter that affects us all. In the two game stations in the ORYX GTL’s stand, children from 4 to 8 years had the opportunity to learn about recycling, while older ones, from 9 up to 12 years, proved in a healthy competition their knowledge in different environmental facts.
Visitors attending the fair learned about cleaner fuels, after visiting the stand and received information where GTL products are compared to traditional ones, showing not only their superiority in production results, but also stressing that GTL fuels are a cleaner-burning, colorless and odorless, virtually sulfur-free alternative that generates much less particles and smog emissions, which translates in less pollution and, eventually, a cleaner environment.
As per ORYX GTL’s commitment to protect the environment and cultivate the principles of the 4R Waste Management (reduce, recycle, recover and reuse), the company is dedicated to preserve non-renewable resources, prevent pollution in the environment, reduce waste disposal and long term liability for disposed products, with activities such as segregation at source, metal recovery from spent catalysts and waste recycling. Also, in compliance with legal and ISO 14001 standards, ORYX GTL is constantly monitoring stack emissions, noise, groundwater quality; and treated effluents are reused as irrigation water.
